DONNA REITZ,

Hi Donna,
I remember your brother, Jackie, but I cannot remember you.
That’s wonderful you see them. I would love to say hi to Philominia.
Are you coming to the reunion? Perhaps I’ll recognize you.
Christina,
I had my wedding pictures taken at Marcy way back in ’73. That was the place to go. The studio took up most of the avenue and inside they had so many different backgrounds. They finally sold out a few years back, but one of the stores that took its place, kept one of the scenic backgrounds in the back of the store.
HI DONNA REITZ TANZILLO I ALSO RECENTLY LOOKED AT MY PROM PIX. WE REALLY THOUGHT WE WERE HOT STUFF. WE HAD ALOT OF FUN THAT NIGHT. I REMEMBER IT WAS ME AND JIMMY, YOU AND ANTHONY GAGS AND JEANETTE AND JOEY PINTO. DO YOU REMEMBER THE FERRY RIDE. I REMEMBNER JEANETTE AND JOEY ARGUED ABOUT SOMETHING STUPID. ME AND JIMMY WERE LIKE “DO THEY HAVE TO ARGUE TONITE, CAN’T IT WAIT UNTIL TOMORROW” L.O.L. WHAT FUN WE HAD/ DO YOU REMEMBER SINGING “THOSE WERE THE DAYS” THEY TRULY WERE THE DAYS. Ann Marie Walton: Lost track of Russell after his mom passed away.
Danny Price: You’re memory is excellent. I am only a year older than you and I could not have named more than maybe one of the guys, Eugene Cresci. I played for one year and he always practiced with me. I use to run erronds for Bobby Corbets mom Maggie. I could never pass the house without her yelling for me to run to Associated Grocery Store on 5th Avenue, Morisi’s or White Eagle.
Hi everyone,
Been on the site alot lately, haven’t written anything because it takes so long to read what everyone else has written.
Christina O. and Debbie B. – so glad to hear that the both of you are planning to attend the reunion. Looking forward to seeing you both again.
Hope everyone brings pictures. I know I plan to.
Has anyone been in touch with Michael Sharolie(sp). I am hoping to see him at the reunion. I used to hang out with him all the time. We used to watch Dark Shadow’s along with Audrey D’Olivera and a few other kids from 22nd Street. Michael also used to make all kinds of video’s of everyone playing together. My kids would get a kick out of watching them.
Lori Angelo – Looking forward to seeing you as well at the reunion. Don’t hate like you mentioned in earlier blog. We were just kids.
Debbie – I remember having Connie’s daughter, Ms. Bruno, as a teacher. All the boys always wanted to hang up her leopard print coat. They all had a crush on hear. I also remember her trying to teach us how to speak French.
Christina – I am trying to find some pictures of us when we were both cheerleaders. I remember we were to only 2 white girls on the squad and you had a crush on one of the players – I think he was the quarterback. If you have any pictures of us, try and bring them with you.
See you at the reunion.
Janet
Hello All,
True story…I am sitting at my office holiday lunch in NYC and one of my colleagues announces he is so happy….he just bought an apartment in Brooklyn. Of course the next question…where in Brooklyn, Oh he says, a really great neighborhood….PARK SLOPE!!! My next question – where in Park Slope – he proudly announces “21st between 4 & 5 Ave” – do you know the place? I could not stop laughing!
Hello Rudy Gil – looking foward to seeing you at the reunion. How is your brother Henry and the rest of the family. Emily and Adrianne?
Hi Danny Price – it will be fun to see you and your brothers at the reuion. Tell Stevie everytime my son mentions the DSNY I mention him and Dolly’s Pub Softball team.

Hi All,
Do you remember when us girls had to have a hat on our heads in church (or something….I remember wearing a lace doile or putting a tissue on my head with a bobby pin….a bobby pin???? what’s that??) or how about when the nuns had a clicker and we all had to kneel or stand when she clicked the clicker??
The Price boys…didn’t you live next door to my grandmother, Mrs. Mullalley….332 22nd ST. , and your mom’s name was Sue…but your dad called her a different name, funny, the things you remember…..
Doris
Francine Arena Calendrino lives in NJ. She moved from 22nd St. a while ago. I spoke to her husband last week, they live near me. I was in a card store near my house, one that I never go in. We both said I know you. Was great to see her. We have to get together.
George, Sal married Mary Ann Reale. He lives in NJ about 15 mins from me. Has he changed? Lets just say you can’t call him Sally Bones anymore. LOL Just kidding! He’s doing great, retired. Having a great time with his 1 yr old granddaughter. I will mention your name and tell him you were asking for him.
Ann Marie Walton Bring pictures of your kids and your sisters kids. I’d love to see what they look like. I have never really seen them.
Camille, So how are those plans going to get up here? I hope you are able to come. It’s been so long since I’ve seen you.
Ronnie Jackson, I’m sorry you can’t make it to the reunion. I have to look for the pix I took at St. John’s closing. I moved them now I don’t know where I put them. That was a nice day seeing you and Margaret Dritto. How many years 2 or 3. Time is flying, but I’m standing still lol, feels like it was yesterday.
Joyce Castaldo —– That song Nobody is actually called “Nobody But Me” by the Human Beinz. Hope this helps. (I happen to be an ex-radio personality)
By the way – if anyone needs to know a song title or an artist who sang a certain song – just ask away.
Hi Annette Hendrickson, How are you? Your kids must be big. You know me? I was always on your stoop. I remember Eleanor Mandone and Auntie Rose were always outside together. How long r you and Billy married. Are you still on 22nd St?
Billy lived next door to me on 21st Street between 3rd and 4th. His sis Madeline, and brother Johhny and I used to play in their yard. We were always on a picnic. I remember making Tomato and Mayo Sandwiches, we thought it was the best but something was missing (the cold cuts).lol
Is Johnny still in Brooklyn? Tell Bill I said hello, don’t know if he’ll remember me.
Hi To All:
It’s like taking a walk down memory lane…..All the familiar names and places. My sister, Doris Ceely Rios told me to check this site out and I am so glad I did. I graduated from St. John’s in 1960. We use to live on 18th st. between 4th & 5th Ave. until we had a house fire on Mar.3rd 1961. I was a freshman at Bay Ridge HS. that is when we moved to 256 1/2 – 22nd st.
I remember my mom, Marie Ceely, mentioning all the names of most of your parents. She was very good friends with Annie Schiralli and as most poeple would say “everyone was her best friend”…. My grandmother lived up 22nd st. Mary Mullalley, my cousin Geraldine Mayberry lived upstairs from her for many years. She has since past away at a very young age. They lived next door to the Price’s (Sue, Fred, Steven, Jackie (in my class) and younger brother Danny.
Girl Scouts with Anna Wall and Mrs. Panchock (Frances Panchock’s mother) were our leaders. I remember our talent shows and I always sang and do did Rita Negri she had a beautiful voice she always sang Connie Francis songs.
Hey Florence Palma, how are you doing? We must talk. I am married 41 years to a Cavallo – his dad was Nick Cavallo, one of the brothers, there was Sal, Nick and Frank. We just moved from Bergen County, (Northvale) NJ to Lantana, Tx. We have 3 grown children and 2 beautifull grandchildren, the reason we moved here to Tx.
Maryann Yasso, do you hear from your cousin, Cookie Commarato? It sure does sound like this reunion is going to be a lot of fun, wish I could be with you all, but my sister Doris and her husband John are flying here to Tx. and we are going to Branson,Missouri for a week, so you all have a wonderful time and I will pray for great weather and good fellowship for all those attending.
My brother Billy, still lives on 22nd st. and I was telling him about this site (he does not have a computer and doesn’t want one either) he asked if you all remember Herbie? he use to play handball with the guy’s in the playground on 23rd st. and beat them….. Also, there was a poolroom on 18th st. and 4th ave. called Iggy’s that is where he hung out as a teenager.
Let’s keep this site going, so much info and it’s great reading about you all and what you are doing with your lives.
God bless,
Elaine Ceely Cavallo
Janet…..good to see you’re back on this site. I’m glad you will be at the reunion. More time to catch up. I have to dig up pictures. I know they’re somewhere. OMG…I remember the leopard coat and the French lessons.
Lori…..that’s funny!!!! Isn’t it amazing what our parents would do for us!!!

Danny Price, Joey Tombasco may have been a tad faster but I had better hands. Actually, the faster guy was Louie “Fish” Cresci from Cresci’s Fish Market on 5th Avenue between 19th & 20th Streets. How many people remember that store?
Remember playing hockey in Billy Cann’s basement? If you cursed, there was a fine. All fine money went to replacing the wood paneling that we broke.
Remember riding our bikes past the lovers lane near Greenwood Cemetary at night (23rd or 24th Street above 5th Avenue) yelling “Where’s my daughter”. Quite a few heads would pop up.

GOOD MORNING ALL HOPE EVERYONE IS WELL.
GOING TO NJ TO SEE MY BROTHER CHARLIE TODAY.
AUNT CAROL, I WILL SEE YOU THERE;
HOPE YOU ALL HAVE A GREAT DAY 🙂
I have not been on the blog for a few days and again I want to say it mimics the “Universe” itself.
Everything is connected (that means us) and it’s always expanding out- (new people coming on) that generate (memories connected to memories connected to memories connected to memories.) It can’t be controlled. And we’re letting it happen. It’s a Spiritual Experience.
Thanks for the following memories:
Elaine Cavallo’s Brother- Thank you for Herbie from 23rd street park. I used to watch that guy play handball all day, and no one could ever beat him. He played bare handed too.
The Pizza Place on the corner of 21st and 4th ave. I remember the man who owned it but I don’t remember the name.
Tony’s Bar was next to it, and it was under that apartment house, and in front of that apartment house, Johnny Devillio, Delesio, Jamesy, Deetzie, Vinnie Minafoe, Me (sometimes) Chris Devillio, and even Dee Dee Sharallie, used to play Moda- (chinga, chinga, chinga, seta, seta, seta, nova nova nine) yelling on top of our lungs. The Song “What’s New Pussy Cat” was the # one record at that time. And I can hear that song by King Pleasure a famous DJ would play everyday opening his show ” There I go, There I go, Theeeeeer I go, pretty baby you are the soul who snaps my control….. What a beautiful time that was.
Joyce Castaldo,
Thank you for B & A Camera and Records.. Do you remember the owners name?. He tought me how to use a camera, and I would go there often and talk about photography with him. He was a nice guy.
Rudy Gil-
Do you remember me? They used to mis-pronouce our last name as Oliver, but it’s Oliva- the “I” pronounce as long “e”.
Thank you for Artie Milo, Tut Paladino, Maggie Corbett who’s son Bobby I grew up with, and the Ritchie you mentioned his last name is Muscatello.
Patsy, Carole, and Charles Miele, you guy continue to jog my memory about so many things I get dizzy. I can’t wait to see eveyone at the re-union.
The King Pleasure Song “There I Go” real title is
Moody’s Blue for Love, by King Pleasure. You can still get it on ine.
I think it’s one of the greatest love songs ever written.
Gary What do you think?
Terry does the Yacht Club have a way we can play all the songs we grew up with.. Maybe Ralphie Marcella can put something together at his recording studio.
ANTHONY O,
DEBBIE ORDERD CDS WITH ALL THE OLD MUSIC MAYBE SHE CAN HOOK UP WITH RALPHIE SHE IS REALLY GOOD AT IT. SOMEONE EMAIL ME AND LET ME KNOW MAYBE I CAN DRIVE DEBBIE TO RALPHIE AND GIVE HIMM THE SONGS. WE THINKING THE SAME. LOVE YA
