TERRY ANGELO:
Hi Terry, how are you. I’m so shocked to hear that so many people have passed on. I did not know that your husband passed away too. I’m very sorry to hear that. I saw that Judy Occhiogrosso is coming up from Florida. What a great reunion this is going to be. Has anyone seen or heard from the Trimboli guys. Remember one of them was married to Carol Shweers who lived next door to Rosie Marsella. She lived in the building owned by Anna Vento. And whatever happened to Denise, Debbie and Linda Pascone from 21st Street. Their mom was AMY, she used to go to bingo all the time. I heard that Denise moved to PA. and was still married to Eddie Kozinski. I would love to see them. There are so many of the group that we don’t realize what a great childhood we all had.
And Elisa Marsella my ex’s sister, what a tragedy, her husband passed on also, I can’t believe it. How is your brother Carl. Say hello to everyone for me. Hope to see you soon. Talk to later
Love Laura
Christina Oliva
I don’t think Kathy got on the site yet but I’ll relay your message.
Terry great idea with the catering
I updated classmates event calendar.
laundry time catch you later
Terry:
You always had a problem sticking to the original plans. I believe that is why I am so indecisive, bad influences. Excellent idea!
Joyce: Can’t wait to see you. The last time I saw you was at a going away party in Queens for one of the Doctors that I recruited for the Air Force. It was on the roof of an apartment building. About 20 years ago (I believe)
Lori: You are not kidding about too many memories to post.
Maria: I remember always having to hide from Vinny Aversano and Joey Perotta (They were always together) He was always looking to kick my —! I wonder why?
What a great neighborhood. The last time I was in Brooklyn was
June 2006. My Mom passed away and she was at Lockwood Funeral Home and Mass across the street in St. Johns. I remember doing mass with Father D’Amato and hitting the wrong bell buttons on the alter during a wedding (I hit the funeral button by mistake). The father of the bride gave me a 10 dollar tip. That was a lot of money then.
EVERYONE,
I no longer need your personal information for the reunion. The list was never going to be mass-produced, just given to Terry. For the many people who have already given me information, I will delete it! Honestly.
If you would like to share your email address, I’ll include it on the list. Of course, I would like to know if you are attending.
Love,
Christina

Does anyone remember the Giglios? They had the pidgeons. Paul Giglio was another one of my first loves. I know he married Ellen Pizzini and they live in Jersey now. I had been in touch with him a while back through classmates but then lost contact. Has anyone been in touch? I emailed him about this reunion but still no answer. Also, anyone remember the McFees especially Danny? He married Pat Kane. As far as I know they are still married and live in Bay Ridge. Pat was 14 when they got married.
Hi All…

Frankie Guerrasio! Yours was the first name I recognized when first signing onto this site. So nice to read about you and to know you are well. Then I realized that you were responding to Mary Ann Yasso. OMG that was such a great feeling. Hi Mary Ann. Then my memories started to flow and the first thing that came to my mind was playing Name That Tune in your front gate. If you’ll recall, there were the five of us: You were playing the records and Mary Ann, Marie Elena, Cathy and I “ran” to name the tune. Us girls were a “foursome” all those years. We would take turns being each other’s best friends. Our lives were so simple then but we never ran out of good things to do.
This afternoon I signed on and saw Marie Elena’s response. That’s what pushed me to start writing. Marie Elena, I think about you so often and especially on August 1st. Last year was our big one and this year I even bought you a birthday card that said, “For My Faraway Friend” on the front. I still haven’t mailed it but I will. Who knew we would be in touch so soon. I’m thinking of so many names of persons we once knew and will ask about at a different time.
Mary Ann, how are you doing? So many years have passed. Catch me up.
And, Cathy Guerrasio…….I was in Rome for my 60th birthday and also the year before. If only I knew you lived there, I know I would have looked you up.
I will be keeping in touch.
My personal email is [email protected]
Twiggy! I did not know that Michele was your cousin! I just mentioned her to my sister Terry the other day.
Hey, and don’t forget the behind the scene people working on this reunion! Like me! LOL
FLORENCE,

I hope Patty Negri is coming to the reunion…….everyone would be thrilled.
Marie Elena? What about you?
By the way, in my heart you and your sisters AND Marie Elena are much MORE than cousins to me. Love ya.

Today would have been Edithann’s 53rd Birthday!
Hi everyone,
Hi Anne Marie, Karen and Debbie. Just wanted to put my 2 cents in! It was great to find out about this site, I sent it to my neighborhood cousins all from 22nd street and my brother Tommy. We lived on the corner of 21st and 6th.
Christina I was so sorry to hear about Jeannie. She was a wonderful person as was my good friend Edithann. I know that they’re together laughing about old times.
Terry do you remember me our boys went to Farrell together and my youngest was on the track team with your youngest son.

Hi Terry. I know Margaret spoke to Carol Castaldo on the phone for at least an hour the other night. I’ll push her to sign on. Also, Donna is looking for her good friend, Michele Angelo. Where is she?
Hi Susan Orlandi! How are you? Thanks for your kind words about Edithann. How is Anthony and the boys? How is Tommy and his family? I found a fews photo of you at my mother’s house at Christmastime. They year was probably 1977. I sent some to Anne Marie. They brought back so many memories.
We’re all doing well thanks, how guys? Thomas has some pictures from down Lucio’s cellar on 5th ave. We always had a great time at your house, we were never too many or to loud for your mom and dad. Just throw another hotdog on the grill or add more pasta to the water.
Does any one remember Christmas songs at the Bonavita’s in July! 90 degrees no air and the Chipmunks on the record player! Your grandpa would call me from the window in the summer and give me and Anthony his special home-made ice tea. But only after he made us promise to bring the empty bottle back!
How about the old man Alex who lived in Stanley’s house, he lived on the third floor and would send a bucket down on a string if he needed something, i really loved that old man
Tina Joy – I don’t know if you remember me but you worked at Seafarer’s Int’l Union when I worked there. At that time, I hung out with Ralph Trocchio.

Anne Marie Ischia Paladino:
I heard from Patti Negri and she cannot come to the reunion. She wants everyone to have a fabulous time.
I received a few “maybes” (Mr. Tommy Alioto) ……….that had better change to a “YES” !
HELLO TO ALL MY FELLOW PARK SLOPERS AND THANK YOU FOR ALL THOSE FOND MEMORIES. MY GOOD FRIEND MARILYN HORAN INTRODUCED ME TO THIS SITE.
I LIVED AT 257A 20TH STREET IN THE ’50S UNTIL THE MID ’60S WITH MY YOUNGER SIBLINGS TOMMY PERROTTI AND MARY PERROTTI. WE ALL WENT TO ST JOHNS ON 21ST.
A LITTLE HISTORICAL BACKGROUND ON THE HOUSE WE LIVED IN:
IT HAD BEEN IN MY FAMILY SINCE 1903 WHEN MY GRANDPARENTS, ROSE AND PASQUALE PERROTTI CAME FROM ITALY UNTIL IT WAS SOLD BY A FAMILY MEMBER IN 1999.
SO WE PERROTTI’S HAVE BEEN AROUND FOR A LONG TIME!
I RECOGNIZE SOME NAMES ON THIS SITE AND CAME ACROSS A PICTURE TAKEN IN MY HOUSE AT MY 12TH BIRTHDAY PARTY IN 1962.
CAROL MIELE AND SUSAN LENTINI WERE THERE AS WELL AS PATRICIA HELLAND, ROSANNE MARINO , PAT MANZIONE AND MY 2 COUSINS ELENA AND LINDA WHO LIVED ON 13TH ST AND 3 AVE.
THEY ARE RELATED ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE FAMILY TO THERESA PASSARETTI WHO SOMEONE IS LOOKING FOR ON THIS SITE.
I SAW HER AT ELENA’S DAUGHTERS WEDDING A FEW YRS. AGO AND SHE HAS RELOCATED TO CALIFORNIA.
I AM STILL IN BROOKLYN AND LIVE IN BAY RIDGE RIGHT NOW AND OFTEN DRIVE UP 2OTH ST OR 21 ST. SAW THE CONDOS THAT ST JOHN’S HAS TURNED INTO.
HAVE TO GO MAKE SOME DINNER BUT I PLAN ON RETURNING TO THIS SITE. ALMOST FORGOT TO MENTION THAT DIETZE AND LUCIA ARE MY BROTHER TOMMY’S FRIENDS, LIVE IN SI AND GOT MARRIED A FEW YRS AGO. CURIOUS TO KNOW IF ANYONE REMEMBERS US.

Tommy, everyone is doing great! My son Dan is the bass player for a group called “Capital Order”. They have just released their CD and you can find them on my space. They are back in the studio now recording two more songs I believe for the internet. Great sound, not our kind of music but all original and they are getting a big following. Their music is good though. When are you guys coming up to Saratoga? Just had Pete, Carol and Loriann up this past week. A lot of laughs we had. Talk soon.
Rudy
Your right….I remember…..we had a good time if I remember correctly….see you soon…Joyce
Nilda…
Thanks for the well wishes. I think I’m a generation older then you?

This is Bob Horan formerly of 352 20th Street. Lived there from about age three to beyond graduate school. I enjoy living on Long Island and am a year round kayaker (even out on the water in the dead of winter), however, I will say that whenever my night time dreams take place in an indoor setting, it is always in that house. Can’t explain it since I have been out here on Long island for many years.
There are many vivid memories I have of those early days in Brooklyn and a good percentage of them have to do with either music, dancing or fishing/ swimming. Could explain why my principal avenues for fun include kayaking long distances and going to rock concerts with my son and his girlfriend (we’re metal fans).
One of my favorite fishing memories from age 12 involved a rented skiff and a small outboard motor owned by Jerome Howard’s cousin Allen. When Jerome was “rigging up”, Allen swerved the boat as we crossed over a big swell. The motor was lifted by the wave and came off, sinking to the bottom of the channel. We tried in vain to dive to find it but then realizing Allen was going to be beaten no matter what, we kept fishing. We were actually carried by the strong tidal current practically to the Verrazano and we just kept fishing. Hours later, we were carried back to Sheepshead Bay end with the incoming tide. Amazing that we made it back. It would be great to hear from Jerome.
Sister Georgina was wrong about my heading to the gas chamber. She told my sister that was my future fate after I hit Angela G. with a snow ball (hit her face…not my intention). Who said the nuns exaggerated ?
I remember being at a party near 23rd street and 4th Avenue as a young teenager and dancing to some live band that was really good. I don’t think I even knew many people at the party and not sure what brought me there. Just remember dancing my ass off and it being a really good time. I remember that Eddie Elardo was there also. I also remember being on a double date at some club where Mitch Ryder and the Detroit Wheels played Devil With A Blue Dress.
Another very vivid memory is from Nat Guido’s house at an afternoon/ early evening party. I remember both dancing to a slow song and several kids present made lewd jokes about a line from a Dion and the Belmonts song (“she goes down for all the guys”).
Hey, there are a lot of names I can mention but not sure any of those people will see this blog.
I can never remember whether the hill in Greenwood cemetery at 20th street and 7th avenue is the highest or second highest point in Brooklyn. Doesn’t matter. What I do remember is that as a kid we would sneak through the bars and had picnics at the top of that hill. There were no tombstones at that spot and you could look out and see the harbor below. Here I am being drawn back to the water again. About a week ago, I did our annual kayak trip from Liberty Park, NJ and then around Manhattan (about 33 miles total; all day, exhausting paddle). We paddle out past the Statue of Liberty and then over towards Brooklyn before heading to the tip of Manhattan and up the East River. I’ve done that trip at least eigth times now and it was the answer to my teenage fantasies of going down the East River on a raft (Tom Sawyer style). Each time that we paddle over toward Brooklyn, I look toward 20th Street.

Terry… Mom is doing great she’s out here in Staten Island and lives across the street from Ro & Patty. I told her she made the website and was now even more famous in the old neighborhood! She misses 21st street and the sense of community. But she has made many friends. Ro and Patty are grandparents now and look too young to be grandparents! Robert and his wife Patty are doing great too, both boys are married.
Aunt Geri still lives in Brooklyn and works out every day, she’s in great shape.
TO OUR WODERFUL EDITH…we love and miss you Happy Birthday
Hi Florence
It took us a while but we finally found you and your sisters.
Thank God Donna is still a Palmer.
Margaret filled me in on all the happenings in your family. Glad to hear that everything is well.
I have two daughters and two granddaughters…Tara and Renee and Alyssa and Amanda.
I am still working for the bus company and going strong at that.
Hope to retire soon. Two more years. Please send me a line at
[email protected].
Love to you and the boys.
Carol.
Roseann Perrotti,
I think I went to school with your sister Mary. I graduated St. John’s in 1967. I remember she had moved when we were in 5th or 6th grade. Please ask her if she remembers me.
I lived a few doors away from Theresa Passaretti. I met up with her quite a few years ago, when our children went to the same school here in Bensonhurst. I often wondered what happened to her.
Mary Ann! We found Florence Palma!!!
Florence, I think about you so often too. Last I heard you met Kathy Florio Negri on LI. Then I lost track of you. I even called someone listed as Mark Reale who did not know you. The woman was so kind, we spoke a while and she wished me luck.
The games on 22nd Street were so much fun. The dances at St. John’s, our crushes on the same boys.
Florence , I use to wait forever on your porch just sitting in that rocking chair waiting for you to get dressed and come out to play. I remember when you lived on 5th Avenue above your grandpa’s tailoring store. You’re the first friend I made when I moved to the neighborhood at the age of seven.
Mary Ann Yasso Fucci and I are in close touch. Once I even met Cathy who was in from Rome and Frankie Guerrasio for dinner in Brooklyn right near John Jay. What fun!
I’ll be in touch. There’s just too much to write. Tell us…are you very near Donna? Say hello to Donna and Margaret. I remember when Donna was born. I wanted a baby sister or brother so much back then. But being an only child wasn’t too bad when I had all my Negri cousins in the neighborhood.
Thanks, everyone, for helping to renew old friendships.
Hope to be in touch soon.
Laura Marsalla,
Lou Trimboli is married to Carol. Our daughters are very good friends. They still live in Brooklyn.
OK, here’s a name (sort of). I was always impressed that LN RCLO could spell her name that way.
