The Staten Island Yacht Club is located at 147 Mansion Avenue in Great Kills.
Directions: From Brooklyn – Hylan Blvd. make left on Cleveland Ave. to end make left on Mansion Ave. Yacht club is located across the street from the Marina Grand. Cross street is Hillside Terrace,.
The Club isn’t the classiest, but it’s great there is a huge circus tent in the yard so even if it rains (God forbid) we will be dry. the Bar is in the yard bottle beer and mixed drinks are $2.00 each except top shelf.
Any question let me know

Didn’t you graduate from St. John’s in the same class with my sister Edithann? I remember her talking about the days when Sister Robert laid down the law with her yard stick. What about Sister Alfred, wasn’t she a tough one as well? Did you know that Sister Robert left the order years after you graduated, married and had children?

Hey, Mary Ann Yasso ! It’s me, Frankie Guerrasio ! I’ve been back living on 22nd Street since about 1975 !!! Right across the street in the brick apartment building across from our old houses !!! I can’t believe you mentioned Harvey Bird ! I used to have a crush on his sister Irene from my class ! Cathy’s been libing in Rome for years. How are ya ? How well I remember “Brother”, too. Went upstate with cathy a few years ago to visit Marie Elena ! She looks terrific as usual. Ran into an old classmate of mine from Xaverian who is her neighbor. Hey, the old neighborhood costs BIG BUCKS to live in now, and no more Rocco’s Candy Store !!! DAMN !!! Love, Frankie xxx
Stevie Price: Do you remember my brothers David and Frankie Blue? Frankie passed away last year but David is living in Jersey.
Frankie…
This is so funnnnyyyyyyy…. I just got of the phone with Marie Elena…as I told you in the earlier post she has been keeping me up to date on everyone……Also that you are friendly with Sal’s old friend Armondo…..
Speaking of Harvey Bird…I went on classmates.com and found him there and we have been chatting for the last couple of day via email…I can’t believe how much he remembers…what a good memory…….I went to the old neighborhood about three years ago…with my Brother…can’t believe what I saw there….I saw Elaine Ceely’s brother and we talked for awhile….that was the only familiar face I bunked into…..anyway glad to hear your still lin the neighborhood….say hello to all yours sisters….I know everyone is scattered all over…..but I often think back to the days when everyone was always out, listening to the music and just having a good time….little did we know that that was the best years of our lives…..and how we always wished we were older…and that that we are, we want to turn back the clock even for just one more day….take care…….Mary Ann

Elizabeth Joy,
I remember you. We were neighbors, when we lived on 21st street. Your sister Tina and I had sons who went to school together. Your brother-in-law George was their baseball coach, along with my husband. Sorry to hear your Mom’s not feeling well.
Say hello to your sister Barbara for me.
Hola:
Lizzie & Linda Joy; i was able to go and see Betty today, we had a nice visit. i had the nurses put her in bed earlier, for they took her to get her eyes examined, she was tired, after she napped for a little while, and she was rested a bit we talked, she remembered me. she kept telling Louise that i was her friend. I will be up there soon again. I saw pictures of your husband to be, u make a very elegant couple. i can’t get over how much u and barbara look alike. I love grey hair, my hair is finally turning gray. My sister Mary tells me that i am the only old lady she knows that doesn’t have gray hair. Well at 62 i am finally getting grey hair and i am loving it.
Ralphie Suarto: i will be emailing u soon, i am busy Feng Shuiing my apartment, that takes up mucho time. I am very glad that u found someone u could have a meaningful relationship with. I am still single and it’s not a bad world. i am forever busy, there is always something to do.
Terry Sherman: Welcome back, will be contacting you soon, for info. i need to contact Joann from 22nd street, Carol and Pinky, to make sure they are coming and to see what they are bringingl this way it’s only one phone call and not 4. I may have room to fit one person in the car, so if anyone wants a lift to the reunion let me know. i am on 17th street bet. 3 and 4 avenue.
Denise & Lisa: if u are reading the blogs, there is a time for everthing, right now it’s your time to mourn, and heal. remember that we all love you and we are praying that God give you peace while you are going through this.
Castaldo’s: Hello to all; hi Rizzo. Hope to see u at the reunion.

Hey there, Jackie Price —
Good to hear from you! Congrats on your family (and your lasting marriage)! My daughter is 25 and will be engaged to be married very soon, with a wedding in 2009, early 2010, to a very nice boy from Hermosa Beach. Hopefully, I will eventually have lots of grand kids. I bet its great to be retired. I left my law firm after 33 years (with one of the partners) to open small firm in Redondo Beach, 5 blocks from the house. I’m looking forward to retirement (after the wedding, of course). I would love to go to the reunion, but business interferes. Still working on it. Maybe you guys can go — Sally Ears too! Take care.
Hi to Linda Joy – I am Maria Taglianetti’s cousin, Camille. Don’t know if you remember me.
Hi Laura Marsella,
I worked for MEBA also, the same time you did. Actually, I worked for the MEBA school which was on 20th & 4th. My father was the engineering instructor. Now, it’s called American Maritime Officers (AMO) and I went back to work there in 2002 (with Margie & Connie, etc).
Unfortunately, they just closed the Brooklyn AMO office this past June and I’m out of work (Boo Hoo). I remember you called the office a few years ago and I spoke to you (I recognized your voice).
Do you remember me? I live across the street from St. John’s Church.
Denise,
I was very sorry to hear about your son. My thoughts are with you.
Hi to the Castaldo & Rizzo family,
Joyce – I’m so happy to hear you are doing well. Do you remember when your family gave you a surprise birthday party? I think you were 9 years old. They wouldn’t let you into the house until everything was ready and you were so upset and when you came into the house and we yelled surprise, you cried and cried. I’ll never forget how bad I felt for you. But after a few minutes you were thrilled to be having a party!
hey Nilda,
that was nice to go see mom. I bet she was surprised.
She looks different huh. I’ll be talking to you now that i am on
here. Talk to you later.
Hi Millie!
LIZZIE JOY CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! IS THIS YOUR FIRST MARRIAGE. WHETHER IT IS OR NOT IT’S TERRIFIC NEWS. A LAS VEGAS WEDDING. THAT’S SOME EXCITING STUFF. I WISH YOU ALL THE BEST. SORRY YOU WILL NOT BE AT THE REUNION. KEEP IN TOUCH AND GOD BLESS:)
ANTHONY OLIVA –
Yes, I am still in touch w/DEBBIE WALTERS. If you’d like to give me
your reach numbers I will pass them on to her. (Her computer was
stolen a few months ago, and I don’t think she has another for you to reach her by email.) I recall her telling me about your visit back then. and I believe Louie and his wife always visited her.
We’d always get together when she came to Brooklyn to take
care of her mom; but now that her mom has passed, her dad
and brother Steven moved near her/Debbie (Davie, FL). Debbie’s
hanging in there… She’s had some challenges in life like most…
I’m sure she’ll be happy to know you’re interested in reaching her.
The last time I was at her parents’ house on 54th St, some of your friends from the neighborhood (21st) were there. I am not recalling their names at this time (Louie may have been one of them; don’t
remember his last name).
By the way, I have a lunch date with JAMSEY. I am going into the City to meet him this Thursday.
Take care……………..
HOW COME I AM NOT INVITED TO LUNCH WITH JAMSIE.LOL
This is Bob Horan (sisters Marilyn and Janet), formerly of 20th Street and currently in Ronkonkoma (when I am not visiting China, India or some other country for my job). I went to Brooklyn Tech which upset the nuns who thought I needed all the religious help I could get. I hung out with the Conroys, Foxes, Nat Guido and Jerome Howard. Practically lived at Coney Island then and recently did a kayak trip from Liberty Park, NJ to Coney Island and back. Under the Verrazano, I had to deal with 6 foot waves (due to wind and tide changing) and lots of motorized boat traffic. Was great to paddle past this place where I spent so much time as a kid – fishing, swimming, boating.

BOB HORAN,
I EMAILED YOU LET ME KNOW IF YOU RECEIVED IT. SENT ALL THE INFO FOR THE REUNION. LOVE TERRY
Leave it to Terry to find a way to get so many friends from so many places together…the only other person that could have possibly reached out so far was Margie (could not hide anything from her, God Bless her). This is just to cool. Hi, Maria, Joyce and all of the familiar names that I have been reading about on the blog. My days in Brooklyn were spent on the corner of 18th Street and 6th Ave with Joey Leone, Vinny Calcione and John Dibrienza (DuDu) may he rest in peace. Working at Sal’s Delicatesan. Then moved on to the Optimo stand on the corner of 9th street and 5th avenue with the Leontuie Brothers (Chris and John). Left in 1975 and pretty much only kept in touch with my BFF Terry. Can’t wait to see all the familiar faces.
