LOVE YOU
HELLO TO MY X SISTER INLAW HA HA LAURA. SEE YOU AT THE REUNION…………..
Hi Carol Castaldo,
Thanks for you condolences on Jeanne, its hard to believe she gone.
I remember babysitting your daughter, wow, they are grown women with their own children, how nice. James is doing ok, still working for the transit and going to Atlantic City. We had bumped into one another at Atlantic city a few years back, I was with Jamesy and your were playing one of the tables.
I also remember playing with Joyce in your back yard of 5th ave, with the pool and the beautiful Patio Blocks around it and having lunch at your house. Your mother who was the only woman on 5th Avenue who drove, taking us to the beach, Flory was a go getter!
Take care & nice hearing from you.
Gina Riches – Yes we did play cards with mom. Also I helped you with your homework many nights.
Franny – Thanks for your blessings. It was great hearing from you. Keep in touch. My E-mail is on this blog above. I am living in S.I. close to Donny.
Ralph Marsella – Saw Alan about 2 yrs ago. He keeps in touch with my cousins Ramon (Bo) and Ronnie RamaSanto in Fla.
Hi All
Can anyone tell me who lived in the house next to the convent on 22nd street.
I remember it had a porch…the house was always dark….and had a big tree in front behind the gate.
Joyce C.
Has anyone been able to find Henry Barrett???
We were in St. Johns together.
Thanks
Hi
PATSY MIELE KIRK , its Joyce Castaldo….wow…how are u?
Rosie Marsella
I hope you answer me soon. I was thinking about everyone recently and looking back I was remeniscing about the greatest meatballs you made. Your meatballs were the best in the world. Although I consider myself a good cook I still cannot master the old meatball. I don’t know what you did, but they were the best. I was very saddened to hear about Richie. Please say hello to Elisa for me and extend my sincere condolences. I think Ralphie and Joey are going to the reunion at Terry’s house on the 21st of September. I hope to be there as well. It will be a great and wonderful reunion to see the old crowd again. Talk to you soon, I hope. Stay well.
Love Laura
Joyce – the house next to the convent with the porch belonged to Barbara Nowak who went to school with Maria & I. She had an older brother Tom and a younger sister Paula. I used to keep in touch with Barbara but over the years…. Last I heard, Tom and his family were living in SI and Barbara & Paula and their families were in Brooklyn. Not sure about their mother who was a great lady. I spent many, many hours playing with Barbara there! I’d love to reconnect with her – I’ll keep trying!
To all the Oliva’s – I wanted to let all of you know that I was saddened to hear of Jeannie loss. When we were kids, she’d come to my house and say “shhh – don’t make any noise…it’s soooo quiet here” and I’d laugh. Small world – I bunked into her in Florida, years ago, at Disney – we were sitting side-by-side on the sidewalk waiting for the parade to happen! She was to young to go so soon π
Well it’s Friday, so for all us working people, TGIF! To all – have a great weekend – the weather’s supposed to be fantastic. Enjoy!

Lori Angelo:
My job relocated to Hoboken, New Jersey and I wanted a quick commute. Would never move to Jersey, will always be a New Yorker, better yet, a Brooklynite. I will definitely be at the reunion. Can you get touch with Michael S?

Great site! Grew up on 6th. Ave. between 19th. & 20th. Street. Want to say hello to Brooklyn!
Hi Danny –
I know you…. And your brother Peter.
You and I have ‘danced’ in the past – either at Super Star or
the infamous Gridiron. I still have pictures of you at my
kitchen table with my mom, and I think it might have been
Grace Coen. My name was Franny Bruno (long black hair)
and I lived right below 5th Ave. on 20th St.
Also I know you through… (hope I get this right)…. my sister-in-law
Maria Aversano Eskew has a sister Annette. I recall her dating your brother Peter many years ago? Make sense?
Happy that you are still alive and kicking. One never knows who is going to show up on this Site. It’s a little frightening at times.
How are you, where are you? It’s really great to ‘see you’ again.
Many of your friends and neighbors are writing on this blog. I
know you are going to enjoy reconnecting with many.
Have fun! π and Welcome!
Hi Lori,
Well would have been here sooner but Mom had a senior moment and couldn’t remember the site. Got it from Anthony Gagliardi.
So how have you been. Our families should get together sometime.
Would be fun reliving the past.
I can remember going into your parents store and you running amuck LOL. Remember the Christmas Tree hidden behind the Chinese room divider LOL!! I was explaining that one to Gabby, she’s the one you met with Mom in Costco.
This site is great brings back lots of memories
I’ll talk to you soon, call me we’re in the book Winchester ave
Can’t believe it is really you! WOW! I just found your email address and wrote to you. I remember being in your kitchen with your mom. I’m living in Saratoga Springs, NY. My brother Pete is on S.I. in Great Kills. It is great to hear from you. I understand that there is going to be some kind of reuion on 9/21. Ralph and are will be showing up together. Would love to see you. You have my email address, let me know what’s going on with you.
Hi Danny —
YES, it’s me… I’ll check my email before I log off, to see if your email came through. Mom liked you… even though you had long hair π Take care……
Didn’t everyone have long hair in those days??? Your Mom was cool to talk to. Always, made you feel comfortable.
Gridiron and Superstar – those were really good times.
Ann Marie Walton? OMG. This gives me reason to write.
Hi All- My name is Fran and I am Frankie (Bugsy) La Greca’s daughter.
I read your names every day and remember many of you hanging out with my cousins Ralphie, Joey and Elisa.
I’ve been reading this site for many months, it was passed on to me by Santina, who was my neighbor on 29 St.as was Ann Marie.
Half my life I lived on 24 Street, the other half on 29 Street.
A hello to Santina, Ann Marie, Laura La Torre,Maria Trabolsi ( you remember me by Fran Hamouch PTA 172) my cousins Gina, Ralphie and my beautiful Godmother Aunt Rosie!
Finally a face to a familiar name.
Have a great weekend everyone.
Fran
Hi annmarie! Too funny! Do you know I ran into your mom awhile back in Walmart in NJ with my sister Terry. I of course went up to her, because her face was so familair to me, and said are you originally from Bklyn! Then I see her again yesterday in Costoc and i ask her the same thing! Forgetting that she is the same person I saw in Walmart! So we had the same exact conversation! Talk about senior moments. She said that she thought you were on here. I told her I would post on here looking for you. I wrote “anyone from the Walton family on here!” There is a reunion for all on this blog on September 21 at my sister Terry’s house. She is on Staten llsand. Email [email protected] and she will send you the flyer!
Anthony Rizzo,
Good to hear from you,
As for the market in the Bronx:
Less wear & tear on your body inside, at least the elements wont kill you now the travel will, added at least an hour drive time to and from. Arrow closed their doors a year ago, after 20 years. I’m 55 years young and not ready to pack it in yet. I still love the business and am now with Lockwood & Winant. The industry has changed so much and this company changes with it. I still enjoy the job, great down to earth people. Henu is doing good I will tell him you asked for him.
So Fran La Greca you are one of the behind the scenes bloggers?! Glad you finally wrote! Welcome on! Don’t be shy, we are all freindly!
Gina,
post your email address or email Terry at [email protected] and she will send you a flyer or karen Dritto can also. Hi there karen, oh I see you a lot!
Patsy, yes I’m going to reunion, hopefully. See u there.
Hi Ann Marie, It’s Santina your old next door neighbor. Hope all is well with your family. Say hi to your mom and dad.
Patsy Miele Kirk,
I’m not sure you remember me, but I do remember you. I lived on 21st bet. 4 and 5th, went to St. John’s, graduating in 1967. I remember playing in the empty stands of the feast, that was held on my block every summer, with you and my cousin, Catherine Paladino. I think I ran into you once at Mark Lanes, (did you work there) with my husband quite a few years ago.
You say your husband bowls at Maple Lanes. My husband is on the Tuesday Nite Mens League there. He used to bowl on Monday nites on the Mixed League. His name is Tom Rittenhouse.
I remember your grandfather’s meat market. My mom always shopped there.
KAREN BONAVITA,
Debbie is going to forward my email address to you. You know you’re number 1 (but don’t let Gina on this site). I had so much fun when you were singing. You were so good and your parents were so proud of you. You should go on “American Idol”. Also, I hear you son is extremely bright………must have gotten it from Jeff (that’s your husband’s name, right?) I also remember big Nick threatening your husband with tossing fish on him (because he’s highly alergic) if he got out-of-line with you.
Also, another memory of Diana. Okay, I used to walk in your house and your mother would say, “how do I look, Chris” as she’s sliding her hands down her outfit. I would say, “you look great” (because she truly always did, that petit little thing). Her response was, you sure, you sure and than “get out of here, I know you’re f#$king lying to me! Too, too funny she was!
